THE HOME OF POEMS AND SHORT STORIES

Real success begins with a friend and everything else in life is a bonus. If your dreams and desires are to become rich and famous and you set your goals to make this your main purpose in life, what good would it all be without friends? You should treat a friendship like a rose garden, feed it with love, kindness and understanding and watch it blossom into a beautiful rose. There is nothing more valuable than a true friend, all other successes in your life's journey mean nothing if you can't share them with a friend.
Sometimes people come into your life and you know right away that they were meant to be a part of your life, you know at that very moment that they will affect your life in some profound way. The people you meet who affect your life, the successes and downfalls you experience create who you are, and even the bad experiences can be a blessing in disguise. In fact, they are probably the poignant and most important ones. If someone hurts you, betrays you or breaks your heart, forgive them, for they have helped you learn about trust and the importance of being cautious to whom you open your heart. If someone loves you, love them back unconditionally, not only because they love you, but because they are teaching you to love and opening your heart and eyes to things you would have never seen or felt without them. Make every day count. Appreciate every moment and take from it everything that you possibly can, for you may never be able to experience it again.
I love to write but somehow, sometimes I don't get everything right. I use simple words so you'll understand what I say and I say what I say in my own way. My humor is quite a bit different than most, especially when I'm trying to be a good host. Sometimes in my plight to make things turn out right, I'll work on it all day and all night. Every day words keep getting in my way, words like to and too, bye and by, then and than, and many more of the simplicities I use, I use in not quite the right way. Who knows maybe if I write something today it might turn out in just the right way. There's no doubt about it, I find writing fun, I guess that is why they call me the wise old son of a gun. When I write something special it's just for my friends and most that I write has a means to the end. The stories I write are mostly true but sometimes I add a fantasy or two. Poems for me are a lot of fun I've written something like a thousand and one. I like to add songs to my repertoire, funny songs, love songs, westerns and many more. So if you you've got an open mind and you don't judge me to harshly, I'll give a few of the things I create , after all when I've written what I've written I've written what I've written just for people like you.
Love is not an object that can be 'got', or that some people are better at it than others. Love is the most desirable thing in life, it's the most natural - and available power on earth. It merely has to recognized, receive and appreciated.
Everyone on earth 'loves' someone or something. Individuals love each other; parents love their children, and vice versa. Most of us, at least 'love' the objects of our wishes, desires or fantasies. We love our hobbies and favorite sports. Any animal loves its food a tyrant loves power; the sexual pervert loves his thrills, a brutal killer loves killing and the list goes on.
Love is the universal power that creates and sustains. It is the basis of all creation as well as of nourishment and preservation. The act of 'lovemaking' is prerequisite to new life being born. We are sustained by being 'lovingly' nurtured or nurturing ourselves. Loving care is needed to preserve anything at all.
Kindness and happiness are somehow related to love. To the human race the values of truth, right action, peace and non-violence are rooted in love. Love is the one reliable bond connecting us humans with each other, with animals, with nature, with our planet and indeed the whole of creation. The basis of love is a sense of identifying, of in some way 'being or 'becoming one', with the object of one's loving.
